KEY TERMS & TIPS:
What are Theatre Tokens?
It is the only national reaching Gift Card and eGift scheme that is available to be purchased at certain participating theatres and retail outlets.
They are issued by The Society of London Theatre (SOLT), a not-for-profit organisation representing the London theatre industry.

How do Theatre Tokens work with Line-Up?
You can add Theatre Tokens as a Payment Method on Line-Up and that can be used for bookings at Box Office and on your Customer-Facing Booking Flow.

The type of payment ticket buyers and Box Office staff can use to put through orders.

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE:
1. Create a Theatre Token Payment Method
a) Go to the Settings page
b) Click the Payment Methods tab and New Payment Method
2. Add Details
a) Type - select Solt
b) Use testing mode? - optional, if you would like to do some test orders with SOLT. NOTE - you must have test credentials with SOLT in order to select this. Please contact SOLT for more info
c) Name - for internal use only, on order details and for reporting
d) Username - you'll create this when you join Theatre Tokens
e) Password - created when joining Theatre Tokens
f) Channels - which Channels does this Payment Method apply to?
g) Click Submit to save payment method
3. Using Theatre Tokens at Box Office
a) Go to the Box Office page and follow the steps to add items to your basket (for full Box Office instructions, go here)
b) On the payment page, select your Theatre Tokens Payment Method from the drop down
c) Click Pay & Update Basket Total to add Token info
d) On the pop-up, enter the Theatre Token Number and Pin and click Add
e) The Token payment will then go into the basket as a Pending payment. Once the basket balance = £0, click Complete Transaction to finish the order. NOTE - the Payment Received line must match the Subtotal line in order for the transaction to be completed. If you have processed a payment for part of the Subtotal amount, then you must put through the remaining amount
NOTE - if you have only spent part of the Token amount on an order, you can still spend the remaining amount on another order. However, if it is a Paper Theatre Token that has been used, the customer will receive the remaining amount in a new token that will be sent to their email once the transaction is complete. If it is a Plastic or e-Gift Theatre Token, then they will be able to spend the remaining amount with the original Token.
4. Refunding a Token payment
a) Click Refund on the order page and go through the normal refund steps
b) Once you get to the payment page, select the Theatre Token Payment Method and select the payment in the dropdown underneath to refund
c) Click Pay & Update Basket Total to complete the refund
d) The refunded amount will then be put onto a new Token which will be sent to the user's email. NOTE - this token will have a different Voucher Code and Pin. Any questions about Theatre Token refunds? Please contact Theatre Tokens directly
5. Applying Tokens in the Customer-Facing Booking Flow
a) Once the customer gets to the checkout page, they can select the Theatre Token Payment Method. NOTE - you must add this Payment Method to the Website channel in order for this to show in the booking flow
b) They can then enter the Token Number and Pin and click Apply Token
c) Once the Token has been added and the Total of the basket = £0, they can click Confirm & Order to complete the transaction
