Scroll down for the Step-by-Step Guide on how to create a Discount URL link
KEY TERMS & TIPS:
How do I send a Discount code link to customers?
If you want to take the user straight to the performances and prices without having to add a coupon code, then you can add the Event ID and coupon code into your booking flow URL and send this as a link.
This will take the user to the performances that are attached to the Discount on the calendar page and will show only the discounted prices on the ticket page. If you'd like to take the user to a specific month of performances, you can add the month into the URL too.
For more info, see step 2 in our Step-by-Step Guide below.
NOTE - if you'd like the user to enter a coupon code before seeing any performances/prices then you can enable a coupon code entry field to appear on the page before they see anything else. See here for how to do this.
How do Discounts work on Line-Up?
Discounts work as new discounted prices you can add to your event and which are added to a basket as a separate price to your standard tickets.
You can create them as Discounts first, with specific visibility and coupons and then add them as a new price to the Price Table on your event.
Then at checkout, the discounted price can be added to the basket with or without coupon entry, depending on how you set up the Discount.
What is a coupon?
The codes that your customers will enter when applying a discount - this is different to the name of your Discount as a whole. You can add this to your URL which will take the user straight to the performances/prices that the discount is attached to.
How do I create a Discount?
From the Discounts page and entering the details, visibility and coupons.
For full instructions, see here.
How do I link my Discount to certain performances of my event?
Via the Performances page of your event and adding them to either individual or multiple performances using the Action bar.
NOTE - you only need to do this if you only want your Discount to work on certain performances. If you want it to be available for all events and performances, leave it unlinked.

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE:
1. Not created your discount yet?
a) Go to the Discounts page, add a New Discount and enter details
b) In the set-up, you'll need to add your Website channel for it to work as a URL link. For full instructions on set-up, go here
NOTE - once you've set up your Discount, you will need to add them to your Price Tables and - if necessary - link to performances
2. Send Discount as a link
a) Add the following into your booking flow URL, so you can send the Discount as a link:
- Event ID - you can find this in the URL on your Event page. It is the number that follows event/
- Coupon code - you can find this in the Coupons tab on the Discount page
- Optional - Performance month. If you'd like the user to be taken to a specific month of performances when they click the link, add the calendar month and year to the URL
Example Discount URL - replace the bits in bold below with your own Event ID and coupon code:
https://tickets.mytheatre.com/event/271?PROMO=JULY24
With performance month (optional):
https://tickets.mytheatre.com/event/271?PROMO=JULY24&date=2024-07
or
https://tickets.mytheatre.com/event/271?date=2024-07&PROMO=JUL24
This will mean that when customers click the link, they will get taken straight to the calendar month that is in the URL:
b) When the user clicks on a performance, it will show only the discounted prices attached to that performance on the ticket page:
c) When the discounted ticket is added, the coupon code will appear as Applied Discounts in the basket
